Hot Hot Hot

HOT, HOT, HOT…It was a hot day for the Jammers indeed.  The temperature reached 100 degree, by the time the Jammers play, it got cool down a little bit, yeah, to about 98 degree.  Holy fish, it was hot.  The heat didn’t seem to stop the Jammers; they were once again victorious this week against the Slice Girls.

Super KUDOS went out to our singles players.  They played tough and hard in the heat.  Teresa Emerson fought hard but come up short; she lost to Leigh Lewis in straight sets 5-7, 5-7.  Kayla Ratliff met up against Carol Goldstein second time in a row this season, and was victorious once again with the scores of 6-1, 6-3.

Our doubles team of Beth Wilson and Suzanne Lennard won their match against the Slice Girls’ toughest doubles team, Susy Barr and Peggy Lindsey, with the scores of 7-5, 7-6 (7-5).  Kelly Kramer and Nancy Winters hung in there and won their match against Erin McAninch and Julie Warren in a tie-break with the scores for the match of 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5).  Also victorious were Karen Griffin and Lisa Powell with a win against Ann Vogel and Yvonne Bussmann in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.  Lisa admitted that she even played nice this week, no yelling, screaming, or being hateful to her opponents. J

YES, the Jammers are still undefeated 7-0 for the season so far.   WOO HOO!!!

The Jammers have a little over two weeks before District playoffs.  Even though they will be short with some players, I still think if they all work together, they can pull a victory that District weekend.  There’s no ‘I’ in ‘Team’.  They’re Jammers, they can do anything!

Until next time, stay cool!
